Two Weeks Off. Still Packed Logic Pro.

I told myself I was taking two weeks off. No sets, no deadlines, no checking the inbox every morning.

I still packed Logic Pro.

Old habit. You don’t switch off from something you’ve built your life around just because you’re somewhere warmer. The laptop came with me to Cyprus, mostly closed, occasionally open at 2am when an idea wouldn’t leave me alone.

That’s the honest version of a break in this job. You’re not really off. You’re just working differently, at your own pace, without anyone waiting on it.

Two weeks in, I’m ending the trip the way I probably should’ve started it: back on the decks. A boat party first, then a wedding a few days after. Both feel right for where I am right now, sun-soaked and slightly reluctant to get back on a plane.

There’s something about DJing near water that changes the whole set. The crowd’s looser. Nobody’s watching the clock. You can take more risks with the transitions and nobody minds if a track runs long.

But I’m glad I brought the laptop.
