How Much Does a DJ Cost in London?

Lucky Evi DJing at a private event with sound and lighting setup

A practical guide to DJ prices, what's included, and what to ask before booking.

Why prices vary

DJ prices in London vary because bookings aren't all like-for-like. The length of the event, equipment needed, travel, planning time, experience, music brief, and level of support all affect the final quote. Two DJs quoting very differently for the same date might be offering genuinely different things.

What's usually included in a DJ quote

Planning and music briefing. Spending time understanding your event before the night itself.

Music judgement. Working with your brief, reading the guests in the room, and keeping the night moving without forcing every request into the set.

Professional equipment and contingency. Sound, lighting, and a backup plan if something fails.

Setup, soundchecks and venue coordination. Arriving early, handling the practical side of a venue that's rarely straightforward.

Experience with different types of crowd. Weddings, corporate events, and private parties all behave differently on the night.

Questions to ask before booking

How do you handle song requests on the night?

What happens if your equipment fails mid-event?

Have you played events with a similar mix of guests before?

What's included in your quote, and what isn't?

Clear answers here usually tell you a lot about how seriously they take the booking.

Choosing between quotes

The lowest quote isn't always the wrong choice. Make sure you understand what's included, who's handling setup, and what happens if plans change.

My DJ pricing

Private events start from £495. Corporate bookings start from £595. Weddings start from £750. Greek weddings start from £850, reflecting the longer format and additional preparation involved.

Every quote is confirmed based on the date, venue, running time, and what's needed for the event. Travel, extended hours, and additional equipment can affect the final quote.

For weddings, my Greek Weddings page covers what that looks like in more detail. For general bookings, head to DJ Hire to check availability.
